As part of the input for the agenda item on Deb, Ian and me reporting on the EU/NSF workshop last week, see the attached list of some of the research items that were considered important in the "language and inference" area.

I'm happy to get reactions/questions on any of this
(we'll most likely have to produce a report on this, that's why:-)
