OIL was developed and reached prototype status in the On-To-Knowledge project. Then the EU and US people got together, and developed DAML+OIL, which naturally used various ideas from OIL (as well as ideas from other quarters). DAML+OIL is now the language that is being used for further developments, both in the DAML project and (even) inside the On-To-Knowledge project. Frank. ----
