Minutes of SWSA Telecon of April 7, 2004 Mike Huhns, Amith Sheth, Mark B., others who didn't say who they were. Looking at Amit's use case at http://www.daml.org/services/use-cases/architecture/QosUseCase/DynamicQoSWebProc-SWSA-UseCase-v1.htm AS: We are defining a QoS ontology as basis for providing semantics that ties into architecture. AS: Need to state clearly how having such a description would be helpful in addition to what is being done in the current standards. AS: Need to define a reasoning mechanism for the interdependency of QoS components. MB: Also for their interaction with the functionality provided by the WS. AS: Interaction, Discovery, Negotiation, etc all impacted by QoS. AS: QoS more fundamental to Semantic layer than Security (perhaps?). AS: There are a couple efforts to develop QoS - work by Boualem Benetallah and by UGa group are two. UGa Paper in WS conference. Mark or Amit will follow up with Boualem to get commentary on QoS issues in reqts. Also commentary on the use case. AS: I'm working with IBM on QoS for BPEL, bringing together QoS Policy - implement QoS Aware Execution model. AS: Also doing WSDL-S - semantic annotation of WSDL. They are working on version 2 of wsdl. WOrking with Paco Cubera MB: Bijan Parsia is also working on injecting semantics into WSDL, as part of the committee doing 2.0. Amit has 4 projects involving BPEL. See http://lsdis.cs.uga.edu/SemWebProcess/ Mike H. Working on Negotiation and Contracting section, adding to what MB did. MB: Perhaps add an intro to it as well.
