SWS is different in the model of use of matchmakers for discovery of services - no human required. 

Discovery of matchmakers - use PnP? 

Stuart? What is role of matchmaking? Is it necessary in all environments?

Massimo: Gneutella(sp?) is decentralized - find neighbors to send
queries. Flood the network to a diameter.  Works with ad hoc networking.

Tim has paper on federated service registries (directory facilitator)

Tim: Experiment using GOOGLE for matchmaking.   (pre-processed owl to make it look like text)

Possible GOOGLE-like matchmaker without other text indexed?
Implies use of spiders for populating matchmakers
- more passive than "advertise" (publish & subscribe) method. 

Tradeoffs on the level of work of server/pricer to do filtering. 
Google-like matchmaker does little. No "logical" constraints applied. 

The frequency of spiders finding of passively advertised services may be
inadequate in some environments.

Mark: Note the implications for the level of effort/kind of effort required
of a requester depending on different classes of matchmaker.
